Biased, Again
Looks like Walt Mossberg is upset with Google for something. He thrashes Gmail again, after nearly a year and half. And for every other sentence he compares and contrasts Yahoo Mail with Gmail and Hotmail. Even as one reads through it, its pretty obvious that the review is biased, big time.
From the review -
Unlike Gmail, which forces you to view your emails as bunched-up “conversations,” Yahoo Mail — like Hotmail — displays them as a standard email program does, sorting them by date, sender, subject or size.
Yeah, who said bunching-up emails are considered to be a cool Web 2.0 conversational feature. We still want to live in 1995.

hahaha, yeah that was a funny comment. I mean, i personally am in love with Gmail, and so are thousands of users for the same matter mossberg has citicised Gmail for. It's funny how ppl this\nk biasedness goes completly unnoticed sometimes.

Yeah, agreed Google is todays equivalent of the old Microsoft with take overs and other stuff, but definitely GMAIL would rank among the top 3 google inventions.... its super easy to use... wonder how these biased reviewers get their reviews published....

Gmail is a savior, No Folders but LABELS! Thats enough for anything! They will get better soon, maybe introduce a 3 pane interface...that would be cool so that we can drag and drop the widgets into place...hemmm...did I give out a lot of cool money making idea!?
And i tried Yahoo Live and Hotmail Live...the main problem is that its slow!
Heck I'll pay the 20 bucks if i need extra storage but I will only use yahoo mail as a backup...:D

This is interesting...coming from a self-proclaimed Google Fan.
I use both, but I seriously *don't* think that GMail is that amazing. It is quite surprising to see people jump up to defend almost everything that Google does..but please do bear in mind that people can have a different take on things. I do like the new yahoo mail, and its better that GMail _for_me_ !

Gmail is quirky. I have thousands of emails in my inbox and I have no way of sorting them by sender (i know i can create a filter but the process involves too many clicks for what i want to accomplish).
I support google but gmail can use some UI love from their friends at apple.

there are some annoying issues in Gmail.
like..how do u delete only one mail from a conversation? when u try clicking on the delete button, the whole conversation goes to the trash!
how to mark a mail as unread?(not the whole conversation, just one mail). say i exchange mails with A, B and C. all three reply back but I want only B's reply to be marked as unread.
how do we do this??
