Yet Another Google News

Google Code Jam 2005 comes to India. Java and C++ geeks, fold up you sleeves and get-set-go.
Google Maps [Beta, ofcourse] was out yesterday. And as expected it must have taken other map providers [yahoo and mapquest] by a huge surprise with it's draggable maps. For Google users in the US it's a huge welcome as Google maps is well integrated with Google Local. Even if you are outside US, give it a shot by typing in your very distant cousin's address who lives in either Dallas or the Bay Area. You would appreciate. I am hoping it would get better.
With 50 email invites to everyone, the assumption of GMAIL going live very soon, gets thicker. More.

A small tip for code jam takers,
have a lot of pre written libraries for string parsing, it will be quite handy.
Also a little bit of STL goes a long way.

Wonder what you bloggers think about a fellow blogger being fired for blogging ;-)

I just saw that even my invite quota was increased to 50.
Google maps just rocks. I spent nearly an hour yesterday tracing the Interstate 10 across the country from a place called NEw Orleans to Los Angeles. Real fun. But requires a lot of bandwidth.
And are you joining it?

HellBoy, Thanks for that lovely pointer. Cool stuff.
Sat, Not sure If I will join. But I would love to. The only problem is availability.
Arun, yeah I did read about Mark Jen. It is very disappointing. Let's wait for google's take on this.

Hi LG,
My comment in not related to Google. I wanted you to post the information about "Thiruvaskam in symphony" by Illayaraja, release date of which was announced by IR himself in a press meet yesterday. You can read the full article in chennai online. Please post a blog on it to spread word of mouth about this ambitious project.
