Just like it’s predecessor, the Indian version of American Idol, obviously called as Indian Idol should be gripping. Having witnessed first season of American Idol closely in the US, I would have preferred to change the format a lil bit to suit the viewers of the peninsula. This one looks like Munnabhai MBBS dubbed into all 4 languages. There aren’t many changes to the format and presentation.
The Indian Idol is being broadcasted from 9 pm every evening in the Sony TV. Chennai viewers without CAS are the ones who are fortunate/unfortunate enough to not view it. They are still on the prelims so live auditions haven’t started yet and I am not sure if they are bringing in the vote-over-phone feature in this version.
The judges. Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik and Farah Khan. We know that Sonu Nigam has a mesmerizing voice, his new found hair style makes him look like Zhakir Hussain. He takes on the Randy Jackson image of American Idol. Our famous(!) Anu Malik takes on the bad boy Simon Cowell’s image. Anu Malik sticks his neck out in rejections. In acceptances, it’s Sonu. I am able to mark this pattern clearly.
The disaster, per me, comes as Farah Khan. She plays the similar role of Paula Abdul. While I love Farah as a choerographer and even as a director, she may not fit in here. They could have went with the likes of Sadana Sargam or Alka Yagnik. I did watch Farah’s Main Hoon Na and was impressed by the commercial movie she was able to put together. Again, Main Hoon Na was a collage of Matrix and other stunt stuff but was fairly commendable by a debutant director. Here in Indian Idol, she’s not even being authoritative as Paula. She is just nodding heads to the opinions of Sonu Nigam and Anu Malik. Probably a bit xenophobic among the musicians.
With all such trivial issues, Indian Idol seems to have got the frenzy of the audience. I know people who watch even the repeat telecasts of the same show. In a country with so much population, I am sure there is tough competition ahead. Good Luck to those dudes!!.

I was so much shocked for showing that Mr. Harish Mayal has been left from the Top ten. I think his performance was not bad during this episode. And he shold get a chance to the next stage.
However, I hope he will prove himself in future.
He is my favourite idol.And in the other side Mr. Rabindra Ravi’s performance was now well. Being a normal public I am not satisfied with the public opinion. They have voted the maximum percentage in favour of Mr. Rabindra Ravi. I think the right person should get the chance for performance.

Ravinder Ravi is an odd man out between the bunch of talented singers. He does not have any knowledge of Sur and Tal. I don’t know why judges select him in the first round to make him reach upto this level. It is just due to him any of the singer can be voted out as we have already seen the fate of Rahul Saxena and Harish Moyal in the past episodes due to this bugger. He is sitting pretty high due to the voting done by the Indian population who is supporting him due to his low profile and caste which should not happen. He is really a very big threat to all the remaining singers who are much more talented than him. If he is not voted out soon he has full chances of becoming Indian Idol. I cant imagine even in my dreams that Ravinder Ravi (who is such a besura) singer becoming first Indian Idol after beating such talented singers. Who is going to buy the CD of songs sung by Ravinder Ravi. I request the Indian population to think from their minds instead of their heart before voting for him. I think the judges now should be given enough powers to select the deserving Indian Idol or else get ready to see Ravinder Ravi turning out to be Indian Idol.
I dont have any personal grudges with Ravinder Ravi but he simply does not deserve to reach that far and become the biggest hurdle in the path of deservind singers.
So I appeal Indian Population to think before voting for Ravinder Ravi.

well i only want to suggest one thing tht if the voting procedure is shown then it would make a positive diffrence like, a counting machine on the screen at the extreme left of all the participnts and their total etc…
well Prajakta is one of the person whom i think i know her as her voice and her eyes gives that glimpse.i feel that she is one who is very near to me.i dont know if anytime i will meet her.but i will be always with thy.

its very sad that rahul is out! he sooooo deserved to be in the final. it won’t be the same without him!
but he’s still young. and this is NOT the ultimate music platform. they’re looking for a ‘different’ and ‘new’ singer and not essentially the ‘best’ one which rahul no doubt, is! thats where he falls short. he is something we’ve all heard before in many talented playback singers of the past! so idol is not the right platform where he’ll come out victorious.
but i’m sure he’ll be the most successful singer among everyone on idol. thats definite!!! coz he’s the most talented.
the package however is abhijeet for sure!!! he’s goodlooking, original, a nice guy!!! has all the elements. and boy can he sing!!! he stirs your soul. ‘tum mile’ was an awesome performance!
so he’s my favorite but if rahul is reading this , i wish him all the best because he’s the one who’s gonna be the most successful in future!
since he’s seen setback at such a young age, he’ll grow mentally stronger and zoom up beyond everybody. he hould also remember abhijeet’s comment about him when he said rahul deserved it more. that’ll boost him as well.

I somewhat agree with you on that but at the same time i really doubt whether SANA can sing
soft-songs ???
I believe Abhijeet can atleast do better at those high-pitched songs as compared to what Sana can
do if he tries to sing those soft-songs.

This can really tell who is good as most probably Abhijeet will select a soft-voiced song which

as well…

I think the best man should win - and that clearly is Amit Sana. Even if we were to say that Abhijeet and he sing equally well, and were only to base our votes on their personalities, Amit deserves to win. I cannot believe that Abhijeet needs to resort to urging people to vote for him by publishing self-promoting features in newspapers like Mid-Day.
People are going to be voting for Abhijeet for all the wrong reasons; and not just because of what I’ve mentioned above, but also because he tactfully said in the last episode that he felt Vaidya was more deserving of being in the final two than he. Hell not only be harnessing thousands of sympathy votes, but also will be being supported by one of the biggest state populations in India, that of Maharashtra, also his home state. Do you want the wrong contestant to be chosen as your Indian Idol because of all the wrong reasons? No. Hence I say, VOTE FOR AMIT SANA, because that way, for every one vote Abhijeet recieves out of sympathy, Amit can recieve two for his sheer talent; because that way justice will be done not just to Amit Sana, but to the judges, to the show and more importantly to our country.
The best singers are not copycat singers, but those who have an original voice of their own, take for example - Kishore Kumar, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam and the more contemporary Sukhwinder Singh even. When they came into the industry they were appreciated because they had voices that were unlike anybody else’s before them. A voice like Abhijeet’s is one that people have heard a million times before and will continue to hear for years to come. Amit Sana has the golden voicebox here - his voice is distinct, unique and has its own character.
Both contestants are really good, but if you dont want Amit Sana to leave disappointed, if you dont want to be disappointed, then make sure you make an active effort to keep him in. Make sure you VOTE AMIT SANA.

1. His voice quality is very good and inspiring(which is a must for indian idol).
2. He has a lot of energy (which is somewhat absent in abhijeet).
3. He is very honest ans straightforward.
4. The way he dances, i really feel like dancing with him.
5. He has mainained consistently good performances in all the gala rounds.
Whereas abhijeet is not as straight guy as he seems:
He said that rahul vaidya deserved to be in finals in place of himself just to get the votes of the heart-broken vaidya-fans for the next gala. So vaidya fans, DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!
Further abhijeet has only started to perform well in only the last few gala’s and lacks the consistency.
i just dont know why amit sana fans are becoming too much insecured!!..no doubt that sana is a great singer…so is abhijeet..if sana fans claim that abhi will get lots of sympathy votes then abhi fans will claim that sana got lots of sympathy votes for his voice problems in the last two rounds…if abhi’s friend sent 150 votes for abhi, how can anyone say that any of amit’s friend is not doing the same??it should be kept in mind that one friend’s votes will not be enough to make any one “the idol”..dont forget that the contestants get more than 30 laks votes every week from all over the country..

we all want good performances from both of them and finally the title should go to the person who performs better in the final.

Why is it that so many Bangladeshi,Singaporean ppl r just tellin us 2 vote for sana. I think they can also vote through phone (ISD) by prefixing 91 before 190 2424 2525 01.
